The-

OH MY GOSH. I seriously completely forgot about this blog, until Meredith (http://tksdash.blogspot.com/mentioned something to me about reading. I guess I'm going to have to get this done pretty darn quickly! I'll probably just do a blog per hour. Maybe in some different time schedule, but they'll all be done tonight. Considering that I'm probably the most forgetful person, and the person with the most procrastination skills that you'll ever talk to... OH WELL. I'm determined to do good in school this year, or at least much better than I did last year. I'll also probably be up really late tonight, because school starts tomorrow. ._. Oh gosh. But it's okay, I wake up good in the mornings. AAAAND, lucky for me, I've been reading quite a bit of books this Summer. Well, two books and a bunch of comic/manga/fan-fiction types of things. Apparently, Meredith and I have read the same book! I've already finished it, and I think she has too, but it's called The Giver by Lois Lowry. It was a pretty good book. (And Mrs. Ryan, I'm pretty sure you've read it.) It was nothing like what I expected it to be. In a way, well, this is a connection, but the way that there was a limit on having 2 children per household reminded me of the Shadow Children series by Margaret Peterson Haddix. With books such as Among the Hidden, which is the only one I've read in the series... I should really consider reading the others. I've read Running Out of Time by her as well. Anyway, I thought the Giver was great in expressing how people have different opinions on everything, and that not everyone can be forced to stay the same as people want them to be. Okay, so, when I first started to read the book, I knew something was weird. I hadn't read the back cover or anything, and I wasn't expecting it to be about an 11, soon-to-be-12-year-old boy. To be honest, I was expecting it to be like, an old man's journal or story about his life or something like that. But, as people say, don't judge a book by its cover. I was completely wrong. DUHHHH. Talon, what were you thinking? Back to the point; Jonas, the main character in the story, lives in a place called "The Community" where supplies are brought in by cargo plane. learned that he is "careful with language"; he doesn't want to use the word "frightened" to describe his feeling, because it isn't technically correct. Apparently everyone is this careful about language in the community, except for Jonas's good friend, Asher, who is laughed at for talking too fast. To make a silly connection here, I sometimes get laughed at by my mom for talking too fast, hehe. Asher is a bit childish, because he likes to mess around a lot and, like I said before, doesn't have a filter when it comes to saying things. (Also, he usually mixes up words and doesn't get phrases right, stuff like that.) I think I like him the most, because of his constant energy. He reminds me of myself, and I think that's another reason why I like him, too...

But yeah. As I said, this book was nothing like what I expected it to be, and I recommend that you check it out if you haven't already.

Also, this blog was longer (and took longer) than I intended it to.

I guess I'll take a short break to read my other book, The Blackhope Enigma. I'm loving it, when I thought I wouldn't from the description.

BUT YEAH, I GUESS I NEED TO GO READ SOME MORE NOW INSTEAD OF CONSTANTLY RAMBLING ON ABOUT THINGS.

Picture related.
It's how I feel when opening a new blank post.

  1. So where did you see The Blackhope Enigma? I've never heard of it. I'm glad for your honesty and even happier that you took the time to get the assignment done even though you were down to the wire. I feel like I'm getting to know you more through your logs. Would lve for you to continue posting.
